One of the great aspects of moving into a brand new apartment is having the freedom to making it a home and go bizarre with ideas and, when creative enough, Do It Yourself projects.

Some of you already know that when it comes to interior design I am a sucker for the clash between modern, minimal furniture mixed with unique vintage pieces – remember my new/vintage drawer?
Which is why I had to put one of the many Pinterest-inspired ideas into practice: meet my new DIY desk!

The concept is very simple:

- Find a seriously cool vintage suitcase (online, at second hand stores or at flea markets) that has a rather thin but strong structure – mine comes from WW1 and is made of iron and wood – give it a good clean or a revamp if it needs a little extra TLC;

- Fix it with industrial table legs – I bought mine at Ikea at a ridiculously cheap price;

- Add a cool chair or, in my case, a cube (from Koziol).

Voila’!

I am still in the process of decorating my office corner a little bit but get ready to see lots of fashion moodboards around it – I am still using this post to get inspired.

Uno degli aspetti piu’ esaltanti nel traslocare in un appartamento completamente nuovo e’ avere la liberta’ di renderlo la tua casa e sbizzarrirti di idee e, se si e’ anche un po’ creativi, con progetti DIY (do it yourself).

Alcuni di voi gia’ sanno che per quanto riguarda l’arredamento sono una super fan del mix tra mobili moderni e minimal insieme a pezzi unici vintage – vi ricordate la mia nuova cassettiera vintage? Cio’ spiega il motivo per cui ho finalmente messo in pratica una delle migliaia di idee che ho trovato su Pinterest: vi presento la mia nuova scrivania!

Il concetto e’ molto semplice:

- Trovate una valigia vintage (online, in un negozio di seconda mano o al mercatino delle pulci) con una struttura abbastanza sottile ma solida – la mia arriva dalla prima guerra mondiale ed e’ fatta di ferro e legno – datele una bella pulita e, se necessario, un ritocchino;

- Fissatela a delle gambe da tavolo in stile industriale – ho preso le mie all’Ikea ad un prezzo stracciato;

- Aggiungete una sedia fica o, nel mio caso, un cubo (di Koziol).

Voila’!

Sono ancora in fase decorativa nel mio angolo ufficio ma presto vedrete un sacco di moodboard di moda – sto ancora utilizzando questo post per ispirarmi.
