A very vintage wedding: my outfits

While impatiently waiting to receive the official photos, here is a little preview of the outfits I wore on my dear friends’ Vintage Circus themed wedding, in Northern Germany, last week-end. It was the best wedding I have ever been to and we all had such a blast! You’ll have to wait a couple more days to see the pics of the event but I am telling you it is so worth it…

Being one of the bridesmaids I had to look rather impeccable and I believe the outcome wasn’t  that bad at all. The bride was so cool to let me pick the entire outfit (including the choice of colors to mix & match), the only rules were: no evening gowns, vintage & color, color, color! I picked yellow – one of the most covetable colors this season – with red accessories. The dress is so comfortable with an amazing fit – I could hit that bbq buffet totally confident, knowing that my dress wouldn’t pop :D
The shoes were a superb investment – thanks to the high platform and chunky heel I could run around doing all my bridesmaid duties the whole day – and I can’t wait to wear them again on breezy summer night outs.

A couple of days before the big event the bride & groom had a more laidback yet lovely ceremony at the city hall. This time I opted for a rather simple outfit – the weather wasn’t very friendly that day – you can never go wrong with the dress + black blazer & pumps combo, don’t we all know that, ladies? ;-)

My man looked pretty damn fine in his Zara suit, didn’t he?!

Mentre aspetto impazientemente le foto ufficiali, eccovi un’anteprima degli outfit che ho indossato al matrimonio dei miei cari amici – il tema: circo vintage – al nord della Germania, lo scorso week-end. È stato il matrimonio più bello in assoluto e ci siamo divertiti un sacco! Dovrete attendere ancora qualche giorno per vedere tutte le foto dell’evento ma, credetemi, ne vale la pena…

Essendo stata una delle damigelle, il mio look non poteva che essere impeccabile – credo che il risultato non sia poi stato così male. La sposa è stata così easy da lasciarmi scegliere l’intero outfit (perfino i colori da combinare) con queste uniche regole: niente abito lungo da sera, tanto vintage e colore, colore, colore! Ho scelto il giallo – uno dei colori più cool della stagione – con accessori rossi. Il vestito è dannatamente comodo – ho potuto abbuffarmi al buffet con tutta nonchalance, senza paura di esplodere :-D

Le scarpe sono state un super investimento, grazie al plateau altino e tacco largo sono riuscita a correre qua e là (doveri di damigella!) tutto il giorno senza problemi – già non vedo l’ora di indossarle di nuovo nelle fresche notti d’estate.

Un paio di giorni prima del matrimonio, la sposa e lo sposo hanno organizzato una cerimonia – più tranquilla ma davvero carina – in comune. Per l’occasione ho optato per un outfit molto più semplice, dato che il meteo non è stato così gentile con noi: non ci si può mai sbagliare con la combinazione vestitino + giacca e tacchi neri, giusto ragazze? ;-)

Non era divino il mio uomo in completo di Zara?!

This just in: vintage jewelry

Ever since attending my very first fair here I’ve started getting puppy eyes by all things vintage – let’s face it, who wouldn’t? No wonder I almost fainted when a few days ago I received some of my great grandma’s jewelry. I adore this gold bracelet. Rumor has it it belongs to the late ’40s – vintage nerds help me out! I first thought it might be a bit too much “bling” for me, but on a second thought it turned out to be rather versatile – whether I keep it minimalistic with a not-so-mellow-yellow tee, or mix it up with my favorite watch of the day, the Casio Mini Digital Watch. I can already see rocking this baby on almost every outfit this summer.

The second gift is a gold four-leaf clover collier. While I love the intricate yet perfect details, this seems a tad to much for me. Although I am über thrilled about my vintage jewelry collection growing rather fast, I am afraid I’d look too much like a…well…grandma.

What do you think, would I manage to pull it off? Outfit tips are more than welcome! :-D

Da quando andai alla mia prima fiera qui, le pupille dei miei occhi si ingrandiscono a vista d’occhio in stile Gatto con gli Stivali di Shrek per tutte le cose vintage – diciamocela, chi non reagirebbe così? Non mi sorprende che io sia quasi svenuta qualche giorno fa quando mi sono stati regalati dei gioielli della mia bisnonna. Adoro questo bracciale d’oro. Gira voce che arrivi dagli anni ’40 – intenditori vintage aiutatemi! All’inizio ero dell’idea che fosse un po’ troppo per me, ma a prova contraria si è rivelato molto versatile – mantenendo un look minimal con una maglia gialla, o mischiandolo con il mio orologio preferito del momento, il Casio Mini Digital Watch. Già lo vedo con un sacco di outfit questa estate.

Il secondo regalo si tratta di un collier d’oro a tema quadrifoglio. Nonostante amo i suoi dettagli intricati ma comunque perfetti, questo gioiello sembra davvero troppo per me. Anche se sono super estasiata nel vedere la mia collezione di gioielli vintage crescere a vista d’occhio, temo che con questo sembrerei una..nonna.

Che ne dite, riuscirei ad abbinarlo? Consigli su possibili outfit sono stra-benvenuti! :-D

NEXT Vintage Fair

Last Sunday I had the pleasure to attend one of the biggest vintage fairs in Italy, NEXT Vintage, in the beautiful castle of Belgioioso – just one hour drive away from the busy buzz of Milan. Being a vintage virgin myself – shame on me, I know!! – it was overwhelmingly amazing and über inspiring. The venue hosted the best Italian vintage boutiques, displaying everything that a fashionista could possibly desire: 1940′s Chanel suits, Moschino, Valentino, Hermes – you heard me, the place was packed with vintage Kelly bags. You don’t wanna know how hard it was to be a good girl and not go overdraft with my credit card. That doesn’t mean I didn’t buy anything though:

As you could see here lately I have become more and more obsessed with unique pieces of jewelry, so I had to indulge a little. I particularly love the silver ring which is simply a part of an old tea spoon – how awesome is that?

Finally rocking the pink Mango blazer I’ve shown you here. For the occasion I wore my House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst ring – for those who don’t know, it’s Nicole Richie’s jewelry line and I love every single item she designs, but this ring is by far my dearly beloved.

Domenica scorsa ho avuto il piacere di partecipare ad una delle piu grandi fiere vintage d’Italia, NEXT Vintage, nell’incantevole Castel Belgioioso – giusto ad un’ora di macchina, lontano dal casino di Milano. Essendo vergine in quanto a vintage – vergogna, lo so!! – la giornata è stata a dir poco spettacolare e assolutamente d’ispirazione. La location ha dato il benvenuto alle migliori boutique vintage italiane, vendendo tutto ciò che una fashionista puo mai desiderare: completi Chanel degli anni 40, Moschino, Valentino, Hermes – avete letto bene, era pieno di borse Kelly in versione vintage. Non potete capire quanto è stata dura comportarmi da brava bimba e non andare in rosso con la carta di credito. Ciò non vuol dire che io non abbia comprato nulla.

Come avete visto qui ultimamente sono diventata sempre piu ossessionata con gioielli unici, quindi anche in questa occasione dovevo cogliere l’attimo. Adoro particolarmente l’anello in argento che deriva da una parte di cucchiaino da thè – ma che figata è??

Qual è il vostro pezzo preferito?

Finalmente vi mostro la giacca rosa di Mango che avete visto qui. Per l’occasione ho indossato l’anello Sunburst di House of Harlow 1960 – per chi non lo sapesse, è la linea di gioielli di Nicole Richie e io amo ogni singolo pezzo che ha creato. Questo anello rimane comunque il mio preferito in assoluto.

On a lazy Saturday

First outfit post – exciting! I’ve decided to keep it completely low-key with a bit of a twist for what’s been a lovely lazy Saturday afternoon. After what seemed like years of rain, rain and more greyness in Milan I was so glad to put on my sunnies again. :-)   I’ve purchased these biker booties a couple of weeks ago and haven’t been able to stop wearing them ever since – they just fit with basically e v e r y t h i g. Best investment ever for the unpredictable springy weather. Fact.

The burgundy jeans were my obsession over the last winter and as you can see, I am just not ready to say good-bye to them yet. Do you like the French take on them, paired-up with a stripy white & blue top?

Today I am off to a vintage fair and I am über thrilled about it! I am already looking forward to showing you my finds so stay tuned.

Primo look del blog – che emozione! Ho optato per un outfit tranquillo ma senza trascurare i dettagli per quello che è stato un Sabato pomeriggio piacevolmente pigro. Sembra di aver passato anni di pioggia, pioggia e grigiume a dismisura a Milano quindi sono strafelice di aver potuto indossare gli occhiali da sole! :-) Ho acquistato questi stivaletti stile biker un paio di settimane fa e non sono ancora riuscita a togliermeli di dosso – stanno bene con praticamente t u t t o. Il miglior investimento in assoluto per questa primavera imprevedibile.

I jeans rosso scuro sono stati la mia ossessione per tutto l’inverno scorso e, come potete vedere, non sono ancora pronta ad abbandonarli per il momento. Vi piace la combinazione alla francese con la maglia bianca a righe blu?

Oggi passero’ la giornata ad una fiera vintage e sono super gasata! Non vedo l’ora di mostrarvi tutte le chicche dell’evento.
