Nude with a hint of white, strappy, thick heel – how could I resist?

It was love at first sight with these Celine-inspired Zara sandals. Über minimal with a hint of retro. Being invited to a summer wedding I figured I could never go wrong with nude heels – regardless of the fact that I own way too many pretty heels, which are waving hello from my closet as we speak.

The truth is, 1) I did not possess a nude pair until now and 2) these REALLY go with everything! Boyfriend jeans, cute summer dress, maxi skirt, skinny jeans – I could go on for hours.

What you see in the background is a hint of the walk-in closet I am creating – See? Told ya! ;-)

Color carne con un tocco di bianco, cinturino alla caviglia, tacco largo – come potevo resistere?

E’ stato amore a prima vista con questi sandali di Zara/ispirati a Celine (diciamolo!). Super minimal con dettagli retro. Essendo invitata ad un matrimonio questa estate ho pensato di non poter mai sbagliare con un tacco color carne – tralasciando il fatto che posseggo troppi tacchi, i quali mi fanno ciao ciao con la manina proprio in questo momento.

La verita’ e’ che 1) questo e’ il mio primo paio di tacchi color carne e 2) questi vanno DAVVERO con tutto! Boyfriend jeans, vestitino estivo, gonna maxi, jeans skinny – potrei andare avanti per ore.

Quello che vedete nello sfondo e’ un antipasto del mio walk-in closet (aka cabina armadio) a cui sto lavorando – visto? Ve l’avevo detto! ;-)

Outfit: let it snow

Just because it’s been a while. Remember last time I posted outfit shots with my beloved, versatile Mango coat? This is an alternative, rocking it on a super snowy day and over 7000 layers of clothes – which I smartly hid so you don’t see them, ha! Since I was out and about that day I opted for a (once again) layered, comfy look. I would say this really represents my style: comfort is the key to feel good if you ask me, but without looking, well..Boring.  If you’ve been checking out my drawer (aka my blog) for a while now you should know that I also love to mix it up a little when it comes to clothes. So here, for instance, I mixed a rather simple, slightly preppy black sheer mini skirt with my fluffy Six Mix booties (also seen here) and oh-so-soft wool beanie.

I finally get to show you the COS metal statement necklace which Santa kindly sent me last Christmas, on an outfit – I am so obsessed with it I actually wear it with e v e r y t h i n g – ooops!

What have you been wearing these days if also faced with über freezing temperatures – do you stick to your high heels or can’t get your feet out of your trusted UGG boots? I am curious to find out!

Semplicemente perche’ e’ passato molto tempo dall’ultimo outfit post. Ricordate quando vi ho mostrato questo adorabile, versatile cappotto di Mango? Questa e’ un’alternativa, in una giornata super nevosa e sopra a 7000 strati di vestiti – che ho scaltramente nascosto cosi’ non li vedete, ha! Visto che ero in giro per tutta la giornata ho optato per un look a strati e super comodo. Direi che rappresenta proprio il mio stile: la comodita’ e’ tutto per me ma senza sembrare, beh…insipida. Se state dando un’occhiata al mio drawer (aka il mio blog) da tempo, avrete sicuramente notato che adoro anche mischiare qua e la’. In questo caso, ad esempio, ho abbinato una gonna semplice nera, quasi elegante e preppy con degli stivaletti super soffici di Six Mix (che vi ho mostrato anche qui) e un cappello morbidissimo di lana.

Finalmente riesco a farvi vedere la collana di metallo di COS su un outfit, che Babbo Natale mi ha portato lo scorso Natale – sono cosi’ ossessionata che la indosso su t u t t o – ooops!

E voi, cosa indossate in questi giorni se siete anche voi afflitte da temperature polari – imperterrite sui tacchi, cascasse il mondo o non riuscite a liberarvi dei vostri affidati, caldissimi UGG boots?

Berlin FW: Miranda Konstantinidou

Those of you who also follow me on Instagram & Twitter (@gretasdrawer) may have noticed where I was last Friday – how could you not, I have literally spammed my excitment all over the social networks!

For the first time  e v e r  I was invited at Berlin Fashion Week by the lovely team at Shop Style Germany (check them out, they give brilliant style tips!) to attend Miranda Konstantinidou FW13 fashion show and, blimey, what a show! Miranda does not mind there are 4 seasons every year. On her world it’s always summer. Now that’s my kind of world.

The show was divided into two parts or, better, two moods – Space Nights & Always Summer Somewhere – however all in all it had a smooth continuity of mini and maxi bodicon dresses combined with floaty, silky draped kaftans and jackets – in seriously bright, funky colors. The Miranda Konstantinidou woman is not afraid to go bold and, why not, even show a little bit of skin.

The icing on the cake? The eclectic, Versace-inspired prints and the stunning intricate jewelry (Miranda also designs for jewelry brand Konplott) – even on those über hippy sunnies!

Luci. Inquadratura. AZIONE.

Se mi seguite anche su Instagram e Twitter (@gretasdrawer) avrete sicuramente notato dove sono stata lo scorso Venerdi’ – come non potevate, vi ho letteralmente spammato tutti i social network!

Per la prima volta in  a s s o l u t o  sono stata invitata alla settimana della moda di Berlino da Shop Style Germany (dateci un’occhiata, danno dei consigli in quanto a stile favolosi!) a vedere la sfilata A/I13 di Miranda Konstantinidou e che spettacolo! A Miranda non importa che esistino 4 stagioni all’anno. Nel suo mondo e’sempre estate – proprio il mio mondo ideale.

La sfilata e’ stata divisa in due parti, o meglio, mood – Space Nights e Always Summer Somewhere – ma ha comunque mostrato una collezione omogenea di abiti mini e maxi aderenti, portati con giacche leggerissime e fluttuanti di seta in colori super funky. Secondo Miranda Konstantinidou, le sue donne sono audaci e non hanno timore a mostrare un po’ di pelle.

La ciliegina sulla torta? I motivi eclettici, quasi ispirati da Versace e i gioielli intricati (Miranda e’ anche designer del brand di gioielli Konplott) – persino sugli occhiali da sole – troppo hippy!

Ciao, Germania!

The title pretty much speaks for itself – I have recently moved to Northern Germany. Oldenburg, to be precise. This super cute little town has so much to offer: amazing Bratwurst (yes, I am addicted!), lots of tiny cafes and boutiques and, my favourite, the best Christmas market. You’ll discover all of that on here in the next few months so stay tuned. As I am in the midst of decorating my new apartment, you will also see quite some posts on interior design, vintage deco & DIY tutorials – I am super excited as it is the first time my boyfriend and I get to decorate from scratch. Darling, can I have my own walk-in closet?? *puppy eyes* …more on that soon ;-)

Here are the last outfit shots I took in my hometown Monza, Italy before moving up north. This pretty much reflects my style: comfy, not too fancy, layered up with key accessories – suede booties with matching hat & my favorite ring by House of Harlow 1960 – seriously, how talented is Nicole Richie??

Il titolo di questo post si spiega da se’ – da poco mi sono trasferita in nord Germania, precisamente a Oldenburg. Questa piccola, tenera cittadina ha così tanto da offrire: Bratwurst super deliziosi (lo so, sono ossessionata!), un sacco di barettini e boutiques particolari ed infine, il mio preferito, il piu’ bel mercatino di Natale. Scoprirete tutto questo insieme a me nei prossimi mesi quindi continuate a seguirmi.  Essendo nel caos, hem, nel mezzo del trasloco vedrete anche diversi post su interior design, decorazioni, mobili vintage e DIY (fai da te). Amore, posso avere la mia prima vera cabina-armadio?? *occhi da Gatto con gli Stivali in azione*… ;-)

Eccovi le foto del mio ultimo outfit scattate in Italia, a Monza prima di trasferirmi al nord. Questo outfit riflette un po’ il mio stile in generale: comodo, non troppo elegante, con giochi di strati e accessori – stivaletti in camoscio con cappello dello stesso colore e, come pezzo forte, il mio anello preferito di House of Harlow 1960 – sul serio, quanto è brava Nicole Richie??

Peplum. A major trend last season – those cute frills around the waist that incredibly slim everyone down – cute and uber flattering. Even though that sounds too good to be true, I haven’t got tempted to purchase anything peplum yet…Until, just like any other day, I got lost on Pinterest and fell in love with this gorgeous peplum wooly cardigan by American contemporary Guru Derek Lam. So simple, yet so unique – so me. I had to have it.

But, having splurged a tad too much on autumn/winter clothing already, I did what any girl would do. I rushed to Zara and tadaaaaaa…

Mission: accomplished.

Peplum. Un trend di parecchia rilevanza nella scorsa stagione – tutti quei volant intorno alla vita che snelliscono incredibilmente tutte – adorabile e super d’impatto. Anche se tutto ciò sia troppo bello per essere vero, non ero ancora stata tentata a comprare un capo peplum…Finchè, come da mia routine quotidiana, mi sono immersa nel mondo di Pinterest e mi sono innamorata di questo cardigan stupendo in lana del Guru americano della moda contemporanea, Derek Lam. Così semplice, così unico – esattamente il mio stile. Doveva essere mio.

Ma avendo già speso quasi tutto il mio budget per questo autunno/inverno, ho fatto quello che ogni ragazza avrebbe fatto. Sono corsa da Zara e tadaaaaa…

Missione compiuta.

…I’ve been expecting you. Welcome back beautiful leaves falling from the trees, chestnuts, chai tea latte while cosying up under a soft, fluffy blanket. As for fashion – time to layer up, ladies.

Me? I like to mix (& not necessarily match) a little. But one thing is sure: I am gonna stick around this Mango coat pretty much every day this season – it’s got a great cut, neither too tight or too baggy, with just the right amount of menswear look, super soft fabric and in two shades of grey (Hellooo, Christian... :-) ). A couple of days ago I have combined it with a breton 3/4 sleeves top, a longer silk camisole, vintage collar necklace, skinny jeans & lace booties. I actually felt a little French – Bonjour!

What are your favourite clothes/shoes/accessories this autumn?

Ciao, autunno..ti stavo giusto aspettando. Bentornate foglie dai mille colori, che cadono dagli alberi, caldarroste, chai tea latte sotto una copertina morbidosa. Per quanto riguarda la moda – è ora di darsi agli strati, ragazze!

Io? A me piace fare un mix (e non necessariamente un match). Una cosa è certa: mi terrò ben stretto questo cappottino di Mango quasi tutti i giorni di questa stagione – ha un taglio spettacolare, né troppo aderente né troppo largoso, con il giusto look maschile; materiale super soft e in due sfumature di grigio (Ciaooo Christian… :-) ). Qualche giorno fa l’ho abbinato ad una maglia con maniche a ¾ in stile bretone, una canottiera lunga di seta, collana rigida vintage, jeans skinny e stivaletti con lacci. Mi sono sentita un po’ francese a dire il vero – Bonjour!

Chabella SS13 Fashion Show

With Milan Fashion Week shyly waving hello to me, last Tuesday I had the privilege to attend the New York based brand Chabella SS13 fashion show and I had such a blast. A small, intimate show in the heart of Milan on a late summer night led the models strutting in and out of the Five Diamonds lounge bar, wearing the collection oh-so-beautifully.

After nearly two years of hard work – the brand was first launched in 2010 – fashion designer Chabella Gomez created a strong key collection of perfectly fitted dresses, high waisted skirts and tops that are screaming timeless elegance, empowering those curves – we all love that, don’t we?

For this collection Chabella was inspired by art deco “with a twist” and boy, did she manage that!

My absolute favorite piece was the asymmetric peplum black top which she combined it with shorts to keep the focus on the upper part of the outfit. It was love at first sight. I would also rock it with skinny, studded denim and chunky platform heels. Oh yes.

For the occasion I have opted for a rather simple, casual outfit with black skinny jeans & white printed t-shirt, paying attention to the accessories: vintage-inspired pearl & stone collar necklace, red purse (Mango) & platform heels (Zara, also seen here). I usually do not wear the same color on shoes and bags in my outfit, but this time I felt I should break the rules give it some serious color.

Con la settimana della moda milanese alle porte, lo scorso Martedì ho avuto il piacere di vedere la sfilata PE13 del brand newyorkese Chabella ed è stata fantastica. Un evento piccolo e intimo nel cuore di Milano in una notte di fine estate ha dato modo alle modelle di sfilare dentro e fuori dal lounge bar Five Diamonds, indossando i capi della collezione splendidamente.

Dopo circa due anni di duro lavoro – il brand fu lanciato inizialmente nel 2010 – la fashion designer Chabella Gomez ha creato una collezione di abiti, gonne a tubino e top – contenuta ma forte – che urlano eleganza senza tempo e allo stesso tempo valorizzando le curve che noi tutte adoriamo, giusto?

Per questa collezione Chabella si è ispirata all’art deco “con un twist” e direi che ci ha centrato in pieno!

Il mio pezzo preferito in assoluto è stato il top nero peplum, asimmetrico che ha combinato con degli shorts per mantenere l’attenzione alla parte superiore dell’outfit. È stato amore a prima vista. Io lo indosserei anche con dei jeans borchiati e tacchi grossolani con plateau. Oh si.

Per l’occasione ho optato per un outfit piuttosto semplice e casual con jeans neri skinny e t-shirt bianca con stampa, curando di più i dettagli con gli accessori: una collana a collare in stile vintage con perle e gemme, borsa (Mango) e tacchi (Zara, visti anche qui). Solitamente non abbino scarpe e borsa dello stesso colore, ma questa volta ho deciso di disobbedire e darci dentro con il colore.

VOGUE Fashion Night Out (Milan)

Yeti look – you like?

Cocktails, DJ sets, bloggers, press, people breathing fashion. This is Vogue Fashion Night Out.

Although I would have preferred to be in New York  last Thursday night – squeezing between Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Victoria Beckham, Oscar de la Renta & Diane von Fustenberg – I attended Vogue FNO in Milan and just like last year, it did not disappoint.

For the occasion I opted for a slightly androgynous look with my beloved asymmetric, studded/bejewelled Peter Pan collar shirt by Mango (available here) and pointy brogues – I bought these something like 4 or 5 years ago when I lived in London and had no idea I still had them. Isn’t that amazing?

Cocktails, DJ sets, blogger, giornalisti, la gente respira moda. Questa è la Vogue Fashion Night Out.

Anche se avrei preferito essere a New York per l’evento giovedì scorso – intrufolata tra Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Victoria Beckham, Oscar de la Renta e Diane von Fustenberg – ho partecipato alla Vogue FNO a Milano e proprio come l’anno scorso, non mi ha delusa.

Per l’occasione ho optato per un look semi-androgino indossando la mia amata camicetta asimmetrica con collo a Peter Pan, con dettagli a gioiello (disponibile qui) e scarpe maschili a punta – le ho comprate qualcosa come 4 o 5 anni fa quando vivevo a Londra e non ricordavo di averle. Non è una figata quando capita?!

Grecian findings

Ah, summer holidays. Although Christmas is my favorite holiday, I must admit that when my only concerns are what to eat, when to nap, how many pages of Fifty Shades of Grey I am going to read and remember to put sunscreen on, let’s face it: it is pretty awesome and uber relaxing. Last week I went to the Greek island of Crete for the first time for a quick getaway and loved every single bit of it.

Even in my holiday-zen-mood, I did not forget to shop – did you have any doubts? C’mon!

Besides overloading my luggage with amazing spices from local markets, I’ve been hunting for the smallest and cutest jewelry shops/boutiques and in the pictures above you see what I brought home with me:

- a round-shaped silver ring with the complete ancient Greek alphabet – love the shape and it has just the right amount of boho-vibe to it

- a leather and glass charm bracelet with lots of tiny “evil eyes”, to keep those away from me

- a silver charm bracelet with two evil eyes.

I must admit I am not superstitious at all but I just loved these bracelets and I had to bring out the inner souvenir-touristy soul in me :-)

Just to give you an impression of my vacation, below is a tiny selection of images we shot in Crete – not too shabby, is it?

Ah, le vacanze estive. Anche se preferisco il Natale, devo ammettere che quando le uniche preoccupazioni sono cosa mangiare, quando fare la pennichella, quante pagine di Cinquanta Sfumature di Grigio leggere e ricordarsi di mettere la protezione solare, diciamocelo: è una figata e super rilassante. La settimana scorsa sono stata sull’isola greca di Creta per la prima volta per un giretto veloce e ho adorato ogni singolo aspetto di questa vacanza.

Anche in stato di coma/zen da vacanziera, non mi sono scordata di fare shopping – avevate dei dubbi? Dai su!?

Oltre a riempire il la mia valigia con spezie deliziose – prese nei mercatini locali – mi sono data alla caccia di piccoli negozi e boutiques di gioielleria/bigiotteria, e nelle foto qui sopra potete vedere ciò che ho portato a casa con me:

- un anello in argento a forma tonda con l’intero alfabeto antico greco – adoro la forma e il tocco boho/hippy che donerà ai miei outfit

- un bracciale portafortuna in pelle e vetro con tanti piccoli “occhi cattivi”, per scacciarli via da me

- un bracciale portafortuna in argento con due occhi cattivi.

Premetto di non essere affatto superstiziosa, semplicemente adoravo questi braccialetti e quindi ho dovuto tirar fuori l’animo turistico in me :-)
